A few simple equations for finding resistance in a simple circuit are as follows:

For resistors in series, the equation for total resistance is: R1 + R2 + ... + Rn = Rtotal.

For resistors in parallel, the equation for total resistance is: 1/(1/R1 + 1/R2 + ... + 1/Rn) = Rtotal.
